Making Your Own Centerpieces

Q: Hello, just wondering if you can help. I need an centrepiece idea, I want to be unique with it and not too expensive. My MOH is very creative with crafts and said that we could make them, but i have no idea what to make or choose... any advice? I've seen serveral examples on this wedsite and others but nothing catches my eye. Also, for my bouquet is it nicer to have all white roses or a bit or color in them? My bridesmaid dresses will be cranberry.

A: This is a great question and you're very lucky to have such a creative MOH that is so willing to help. With regards to the centrepieces, you can purchase glass containers/vases, or some wicker baskets, depending on your taste... you can then fill them with fresh seasonal fruits and surround them with candles... that way your centrepiece doubles as a food item and a decorative item. It's a great idea and is the latest trend. There is so much you can do... I find that a trip to the craft store can often spark some new and unique ideas. Let me know if you have any thematic approaches that you'd like to follow and perhaps I can give you some more ideas.

With regards to your flowers, if your bridesmaids are wearing cranberry coloured dresses, it would be great if your bouquet could incorporate at least 4-6 cranberry coloured flowers. That will look absolutely stunning in the photographs!
