Looking Your Best In All Your Pictures

Most photographers will advise against overdoing. Many brides mistakenly believe that if a little bit is good, a whole lot is better. Apply makeup sparingly - keeping it soft, natural and well blended. Keep hairdos and accessories from being too elaborate. Be the person you know best... yourself.

Camera and Colors
Even with today's technology, some colors still photograph better than others. To get a fresh, natural face, opt for neutral shades of makeup (i.e. bone, ivory, beige in MATTE) Don't overlook seeking help from professional stylists and makeup artists for any advise.

Drastic Change
Don't change anything drastic on the day of your photos. Deciding on going blond, or a new perm is not recommended. This will only increase the chance of something going wrong, on a day when you want everything to be perfect.

Test Poses
Try running a few shots with a friend to capture some looks. Study them to see which ones you like best. Having some idea on what you like will help you and the photographer achieve the pictures you will cherish forever.

Relax
Try not to run around too much on your photo session day. Delegate tasks to someone else so you can relax. You want to look and feel composed for the shots.

Trust your Photographer
If you have hired a good photographer, you should not play director during the formal sittings. They will know to play up your best features, as well as downplaying weaker features.

During the Reception
It's best to keep friends away while you're being photographed. The pictures won't be too flattering when your eyes are on the camera but your mouth skewed.

Formal Shots
Try to keep the formal shots short and to a minimum by getting as much of the photography out the way before the wedding. Unless you are sticking to the tradition of not seeing the groom before the ceremony.

Freshen Up
Once the ceremony is done, you will be hugged, kissed, cried over many times. Have your makeup bag ready so you can periodically refreshen your look.

Adaptable Photographer
A good photographer should be able to adapt to any weather, rain or shine. But there are better times for certain outdoor shots - 10 or 11 in the morning, or 1 - 3 in the afternoon when the light is warm and the shadows are longer. If it rains, your photographer should still be able to work with it. Rain can soften pictures, making it very romantic.
