Groom's Help in Wedding Planning

Q: My fiancé and I are getting married in 9 months. So far, he hasn't done anything to help with the wedding preparations. What can I do to get him more involved?

A: Instead of trying to force him to help you in areas he isn't familiar with, or comfortable with, encourage him to be more involved in other areas... areas where he has more interest or experience. For example, if your fiancé is a car buff, leave him in charge of arranging the limos or the rental cars. If he's a good writer, ask him to help with the wording on the invitations, rather than the design. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, try to encourage him to help you with things that he's naturally good at in the first place.
