Planning your wedding

Planning a wedding or special event is often an exciting and yet extremely
stressful time. Not only do you have to prepare on that special day, it
is preceded by hours and hours of restless planning. The following is
a miniature list of the key elements that are necessary in planning a
successful wedding or special event.
- Coordinate all Sites - Make sure that the ceremony and reception sites
are booked a year in advance, and that they are relatively close to
one another.
- Select a Dress - This should be done at least 9 months in advance.
There are a number of problems involved in ordering or having a dress
made, from the supplier not having it in stock, to making alterations.
Leave plenty of time to allow yourself and your attendants to fit the
dresses as often as necessary.
- Set a Guest List and Budget - Take careful consideration when choosing
your guests. Start with family and close friends, and then more distant
acquaintances. When you have prepared your budget you can eliminate
people in the reverse order if necessary. Remember, when you make your
budget, STICK TO IT.
- Set the Tone and Style - Choose colours, style of dresses and accessories
that compliment you and your attendants. Do not feel pressure to pick
colours that match a particular season. Make sure that the accessories
you choose flow throughout the reception room, but do not overpower
it or add nothing to it.
- Pick key players - Make sure that you take the time out to visit
the vendors that will ultimately bring your day together. Talk to others
who have used their services, or ask to see or taste samples of their
work.
