Brown Bridesmaid Dresses

Q: I think that my Bridesmaid dresses will be chocolate brown. I would like to have some suggestions for seasonal flowers and colours of flowers I could have if the dresses are this colour. Thanks very much for your help!

A: I would suggest that you use very neutral colours for your flowers. Actually, plain white would be the best. The most beautiful thing, in my mind, would be to utilize white lilies. You can ask your florist to make sure they have long stems so when your bridesmaids are carrying them down the aisle, you'll see beautiful white lilies with long green stems against the brown dresses. If you ask for them to be hand-tied, it will be a great effect. If you're not familiar with what hand-tied arrangements look like, you may want to ask your florist to show you some pictures. That said, if you don't particularly like lilies, you can use virtually any other flower, but white would certainly be the best colour.
