Video to DVD - The Transition

Well,
it looks like the DVD format is here to stay. After a tenuous start a
few years ago, more and more couples are opting for a copy of their wedding
on DVD. Although quality video translates well on video, it does not beat
the clarity, steadiness and durability that DVD offers.
Couples should be aware that not all DVD's produced are the same. Most
DVD burners that videographers are now utilizing use single-sided discs
that can hold at the highest level quality compression a maximum of one
hour and fifteen minutes. So if your edited wedding is close to two hours,
it should be on two discs. If it isn't, it is not being compressed at
the highest possible quality - and that is the whole point of DVD.
Another important point to bring up with your videographer is whether
or not your DVD has pointers or chapter points incorporated. This enables
you to move directly to different parts of your wedding; also a very important
part of the beauty of DVD.
The A to Z - the quality of camera, the shoot, the sound, the right clarity,
careful editing and the authoring of your DVD will produce an incredible
capture of a "moment in time" that will last a lifetime and
beyond.
