Long after the wedding day is over, all you will have to remember this
special day are your memories and perhaps a video. But photographs have
always been a standard and necessary way to capture your wedding moments
in a timeless way. Make sure that you have chosen wisely by asking these
questions beforehand.
Questions to Ask
- How long have you been in business?
- May I see some references?
- Is your equipment capable of shooting in any kind of light?
- How many rolls of film will you shoot?
- How many proofs will there be?
- Is there an extra charge to keep all the proofs?
- How long do you keep the negatives?
- How long can I order additional prints at the quoted price?
- What is your payment schedule?
- How long before I will be called for proof selection?
- How long before I receive the wedding albums?
- How will the photographer be dressed?
- Do you have a videographer that you prefer to work with?
- Do you use 35mm, medium, or large format film?
- Do you shoot in black and white?
- Do you carry an extra camera in case one does not work?
- Is there a minimum order?
- How long will you stay at the wedding?
- How long will you stay at the reception?
- Do you do oil portraits?
- What is your cancellation policy?
- Will you shoot a wedding for a set fee and give the film to the bride?
- Do you have special moments you try to capture?
- Are you insured?
- Are there any extra charges we haven’t discussed?
- Can I have a sample contract?
The better informed you are, the more likely it is that you'll be happy
with the results. Happy planning!
