honeymoon and why and we'll send you there!" contest is:
Finalist #4
I would really love to return to Vancouver where I first met my fiancé.
It was 1992 and I was trying just about everything for six months to get
her to date me. I would drive one hour just to walk her home from work.
I did that for about 2 months and then asked her to attend a wedding with
me. We had an amazing time and it was at that point that I knew I had
to be with her. After about 3 more months of hard work I finally asked
her to be with me. It was over coffee. She decided to stay with her current
boyfriend and leave me behind. I was totally lost and did not know what
to do. As I drove her home a song came on the radio. It was "A different
corner" by George Michael. The song was just right for the situation
and I knew I would probably never see her again. I stopped the car on
the side of the highway and asked her to dance. It was a warm summer night.
I held her in my arms like never before with the lights of my car shining
on the two of us as we danced.
"Take me back in time maybe I can forget, turn a different corner
and we never would have met, would you care?... 'Cause I've never come
close in all of these years, you are the only one to stop my tears, I'm
so scared of this love. And if all that there is is this fear of being
used I should go back to being lonely and confused. If I could I would
I swear"
I remember the truck drivers honking their horns as they passed. I remember
it as though it was yesterday. Two weeks later she decided to be with
me and we're now set to be married on August 11 of this year. I would
really love to return to that same spot in Vancouver to dance with her
again.
