Walking Down the Aisle

Q: Who is designated to walk down the aisle? Is it the flower girl, bridesmaids, maid of honour then the bride or does the groom, his parents and bride's mother walk down the aisle too?

A: This is a great question, and I have to begin by saying that there's no "right" or "wrong" here. Anyone can walk down the aisle in any order, because this is your wedding and you can do it your way. Traditionally speaking, the men walk up the side of the altar, led by the wedding officiant and take their places. The bridesmaids are next, followed by the flower girls, then the maid of honour, and then the bride with her father/parents. The other way is to have only the groom standing at the altar and the bridesmaids paired with the groomsmen walk down the aisle followed by the flower girl and ring boy, then the maid of honour and best man, and finally the bride and her parents/father.
