Booking a Photographer

Choosing the right photographer for your wedding is probably the most
important decision you have to make. Photographs really are what you have
left to remind you of your special day.
Good questions to keep in mind when scouting photographers are as follows:
- Are proofs marked or unmarked?
- Are negatives available?
- How many shots are taken per/hour?
- How long have they been in business? As little as 3-5 years is plenty.
Newer photographers are fresh, candid and creative. Just as long as
they have professionalism and outstanding technical skills.
- Are they accompanied with another photographer/assistant at the wedding
or do they shoot alone? A second shooter is definitely ideal. You get
more coverage and more candids!!!
- Does the photographer use up-to-date equipment?
- Some photographers are extremely over priced. Don’t be afraid
to meet a variety of different photographers. The more expensive they
are doesn’t necessarily mean the better they are. You can find
great photographers for half the price of some others. Just do your
research and don’t be afraid to meet with them. It is possible
to book with the first photographer you meet, if they meet all your
requirements, then go for it!!
- Last but not least, make sure you feel comfortable with your photographer
and you get along. Some wedding vendors can be very intimidating. You
want a nice, smiley face that will be capturing your special day. Their
genuineness and happiness will reflect in your photos.
Good luck planning your wedding!!
