Bridesmaid Dresses

Q: I was wondering what the proper etiquette is regarding paying for the bridesmaid dresses. Do I buy the dresses or do they? I have been told both. Please help.

A: You could really do this either way. Some bridesmaids pay for their own gowns and others have their gowns supplied by the bride. It really depends on what you can afford and how you feel about the situation. Generally speaking, if you're paying for their gowns they're responsible for their own hair, makeup, shoes and jewellery, but if you're not paying for the gown you would be responsible for those items.
