Q: I am getting married in August and I was having troubles with my timetable. I would like to have the ceremony and then take pictures and the reception to follow that. What is a reasonable amount of time between ceremony and reception before the guests get cranky? Thank you in advance.

A: This is a great question, and it's very kind of you to be so aware of the feelings of your guests. Quite often, the guests are left waiting for way too long and it really affects their overall opinion of the wedding as a whole. The ideal wait time between ceremony and reception is about an hour or so. If you leave your guests for more than an hour, they tend to get very bored, and have nothing to do. At the same time, if you leave them for too short a time, they don't get enough of a breather!
